Tom Selleck-2Thomas William Selleck is an American actor from America. His most well-known role was Thomas Magnum, a private investigator in the television series Magnum, P.I. The actor was nominated five times for Emmy Awards in the category of Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series (1980-1988) and took home the Emmy Award in 1985. From 2010 to 2010, Selleck has played New York City Police Chief Frank Reagan. Since 2005 the actor has played the troubled police chief of a small town Jesse Stone in nine television films based on the Robert B. Parker novels.In films, Selleck has played bachelor architect Peter Mitchell in Three Men and a Baby (1987) and its sequel Three Men and a Little Lady (1990). Alongside his appearances in Magnum, P.I., Selleck has appeared in more than 50 movies and television shows, which include the movies Quigley Down Under, Mr. Lassiter and baseball. He played the regular television character of Monica Geller's love lovers Dr. Richard Burke and Lance White on Friends. Also he played A.J. Cooper on Las Vegas. Cooper also played the lead role in the television western The Sacketts, based on two of Louis L'Amour's books.Selleck is a California Army National Guard veteran and a spokesperson for the National Rifle Association (NRA) and an endorser for advertisements for National Review magazine, and co-founder of the Character Counts! organization.
